Function integration

Body Computers control and monitor body electronics components and their functions. Enhanced diagnostics allows failure detection of wiring or components (bulbs or other electrical devices) and can start emergency programs or alert the driver about malfunctions.

The BCM is an integration platform for internal and external light applications, access/terminal functions, wiper, heating and climate functionality as well as Parking Aid systems and others.

System

The increasing functionality and complexity in automotive electronics needs powerful communications network infrastructures and flexible E/E architectures. The Body Computer is one central device with its opportunity for integration of a Central Gateway (CGW) functionality to ensure communications between different buses and different domains. Beside CAN buses the Body Computer also supports LIN, Flexray and Ethernet bus systems. The Body Computer is also a server for distributed mechatronic components. They can be integrated to a higher level of functionality and can easily be adapted to different customer requirements. Bosch supports with development methodology for an efficient design of optimized automotive body E/E architectures and supports AUTOSAR (AUTomotive Open System Architecture).
